愛美是天性，而南韓整形醫療手術更是風靡全球，根據韓聯社報導，南韓保健產業振興院最新報告顯示，2012年有近16萬外國旅客前往南韓進行「醫療旅遊」，總計帶進逾2.5億美元（75億元台幣）外匯收入。
 
其中，中國醫療旅客達3.25萬人次，佔整體外國醫療旅客2成以上，首度擠下美國位居龍頭。
 
到南韓進行醫療旅遊的中國旅客中，女性佔一半以上，年齡大多為20~30歲，其中37%尋訪整形診所、15%在皮膚科就診。而中國醫療旅客在南韓醫療費用平均為169萬韓元（4.8萬元台幣）。
 
有趣的是，不少中國留學生因此做起了「整形仲介」生意，負責翻譯及提供轉介服務，並收取3成手術費做為佣金。（林依璇／綜合外電報導）
